My work with teenagers began just a few days after my college graduation when I was hired as a middle school English teacher.  It was a daily exercise in flexibility and resilience as I established a routine with my first students, but I learned very quickly that I really enjoyed working with young adults. In the years that followed, I continued my work with teens as a certified high school English teacher and tutor. These experiences gave me the opportunity to establish a solid foundation in ethical guidance, strong planning and organization, and individual attention to student needs. I apply that same perspective to college consulting and seek to help teens highlight their individual experiences in their college applications.

I understand that no two students are alike, and each student's college journey is unique. What works for one student may not work for another, and I tailor my approach to each and every student. I strive to assist students and families in both researching known paths and discovering new ones that will help them reach their desired goals. I really enjoy helping students explore their God-given talents and the many possibilities for the future. I understand first-hand the anxiety associated with the college-going process as I have been through it with my own kids!  It can be overwhelming to be sure, but dedicated time and appropriate effort will yield the most rewarding results.  I am committed to staying current in the world of college admissions and researching relevant issues as they apply to my clients, an essential task at this moment due to ever-changing admissions policies. Planning for college during the high school years is such an exciting time, and I am thrilled to get to share it with so many amazing families! Working with a college consultant who is knowledgable, compassionate, approachable, and organized results in a positive outcome that conveys confidence and a strong sense of self, which is, of course, the primary objective.  In the end, my job is to help my clients shine!

I look forward to working with you.

In addition to my work as an IEC, I am an adjunct professor and assist students in their overall transition to college life. When not working, I enjoy traveling, reading, shopping, and spending time with my kids, my friends, and my dog. :)
